I married my husband on November 9, 2019, and this sub was SO helpful! Here is a recap and budget breakdown of our big day:
Guests – 109 (145 invited, 121 RSVP’d)
Invites and RSVP $265 – We used Minted.com All-In-One Wedding Invitations
Save the Dates $45 – Designed on Canva, printed at my office. Paid for envelopes, cardstock and postage
Flowers $415 – Bridal bouquet and corsages came from a florist. We made the bridesmaid’s bouquets and groomsman’s boutonnieres with flowers from Trader Joe’s. My bridesmaids and MIL helped me assemble them the day before.
Booze $850 – We did beer, wine and hard seltzer only. The wine came from Aldi and the beer from Sam’s club. We WAY over purchased on the wine and we able to send guests home with a bottle. This cost also includes payment and tip for two bartenders.
Food $2,210 – We had 2 kinds of pasta from a local restaurant, breadsticks, and salad. This amount also included 5 servers and tips for each of them.
Rehearsal Dinner $1,200 – The restaurant who catered the reception offered a 10% discount if we did the rehearsal dinner with them as well. This includes a seated dinner with a set menu for 25 people and tips for the server and bartender.
Cocktail Hour Popcorn $110 – We decided to do wedding party photos and portraits prior to the ceremony and opted for family photos after. We needed something cheap to serve during the cocktail hour (more like 30 minutes) while we took photos and decided on popcorn. It was a huge hit! We had two sweets and two savory and it was nearly gone by the time we made our entrance.
Bride Bra and Shapewear $55 – Both from Target
Bride Wedding Dress $25 – The wedding dress was a total fluke. I originally purchased a dress from the David’s Bridal $99 sale that would have needed a ton of alterations. The dress I ended up wearing was a very similar dress I saw on Poshmark. When it arrived, it fit like a glove and needed minimal alterations so I went with it instead.
Bride Veil $50 – Etsy
Bride Dress Alterations $285 – Includes tip
Bride Shoes $60 – I bought ceremony shoes and reception shoes, but ended up forgetting the reception shoes at home. I danced the night away barefoot!
Bride Makeup $155 – This includes the trial run and a tip
Bridal Accessories $81 – Includes earrings and belt, both from Etsy
Bride Rehearsal Dress $39 – ModCloth
Groom Suit $310 – This was a splurge, since it’s his only suit. It came from JoS. A. Bank and the price includes tailoring.
Groom Shoes $125 – Another splurge- Cole Haan shoes that will last forever and came from DSW.
Venue $1,020 – Our original venue lost their lease (and failed to notify me), but we lucked out finding a new venue 2 months from our date. We married in the very modern lobby of an office building and had the reception across the street in a building used to store antique cars. The cars were a huge hit at the reception and everyone had a blast taking photos with them. This cost also includes a tip for the property manager and security.
Pipe and Drape/Candle Rental $366 – Since we were in an office building, we needed some pipe and drape to add some pizzazz/ambiance. It worked!
Photography $985 – This was for 8 hours of photography and includes tip
DJ $0 – We made a Spotify playlist and adjusted the playback to 10 seconds to crossfade songs and set it to automix so the endings weren’t abrupt. It worked out great!
Wedding Party Gifts $580 – This includes bridesmaid and groomsmen proposals, accessories and day-of gifts. We each had 6 attendants.
Parents Gifts $60 – Our parents would have lost it if we got them something expensive. We opted for 8×10 frames for our future wedding photos, handkerchiefs for the moms and some cool socks for my FIL (he’s a sock guy).
WP Bowling $30 – I wanted to include ALL the wedding costs, so here we are. We took our wedding party bowling a couple months before because we wanted everyone to have a chance to bond!
Cakes $210 – We were too cheap for a “real” wedding cake. We purchased 8 inch and 5 inch Berry Chantilly cakes from Whole Foods and stacked them on top of each other for pictures and cutting. Then we ordered a full Berry Chantilly sheet cake, as well as chocolate, carrot, and strawberry sheet cakes from Uptown Grocery. The caterers were kind enough to box up the leftover slices and set them out for guests to take with them- also a huge hit!
Rings $180 – My wedding ring is my grandmother’s wedding ring so we just needed bands. We got both from Etsy.
Decor $405 – This was a bunch of little stuff- Centerpieces, signage, floral supplies, cake servers, guest book, etc. Never underestimate the value of Facebook marketplace!
Day of Coordination $450 – This was absolutely priceless! If you’re on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator, DO IT!
Hotel $250 – The bridal suite transformed into the honeymoon suite to save money.
Marriage License $50
If any of you are Oklahoma City brides, feel free to message me for more vendor details. They were all amazing to work with!
